Uganda Travel Destinations & Highlights

Murchison Falls National Park: Located in the northeastern part of Uganda, attracts thousands of tourists each year because it is home to Uganda’s most famous natural attraction, the thunderous Murchison falls (Kabalega falls).

These falls, located in Murchison Falls National Park in northwestern Uganda, are arguably the world’s most powerful waterfalls.

It’s one of the best Uganda travel highlights you’ll ever come across.

Visitors to the park can choose from a variety of activities.

You can take a boat ride to the top of the falls to get a clear view of the devil’s cauldron, where massive amounts of water squeeze through a seven-meter gorge to get through the rock; it’s an incredible sight.

Crocodiles, hippos, elephants, warthogs, and waterbucks are just a few of the wildlife species that live in the river’s shallows.

Mountain gorilla Safaris Uganda. Almost all Uganda gorilla trekking reviews recognize Bwindi as the trip’s highlight. Volcanoes National park is another fascinating gorilla safari destination.

Mountain gorillas are only found in three African countries: Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. They live deep in the impenetrable forests of Bwindi in the Virunga ranges.

Mountain gorillas are a critically endangered species, with only about 1000 gorillas left in the world.

Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park are home to over 600 gorillas, accounting for nearly three-quarters of the forest’s population of these mighty apes.

Nothing beats watching a baby gorilla jump from one tree branch to the next or the family interact and communicate with one another.

In a nutshell, gorilla tours are fascinating.

We have a couple of Uganda gorilla trekking tours that will make this real to you.

Tree climbing lions in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Most Uganda travel reviews mention tree climbing lions as a must-see attraction.

These lions can only be found in Uganda’s Queen Elizabeth National Park and Lake Manyara National Park in Tanzania.

It is not available anywhere else in the world.

The tree-climbing lions of Queen Elizabeth National Park’s Ishasha sector are one of Uganda’s most unique attractions, and they can be seen all year.

Yes, we have seen lions in zoos and wildlife centers, but the lions at Ishasha are unique in that they climb trees.

Travelers are always fascinated by the sight of lions lying in the huge branches of fig-trees, making tree-climbing lions one of the most sought-after wildlife species.

Tourists can also see buffaloes, waterbucks, elephants, lions, Orbis, hyenas, Uganda Kobs, and other wildlife species in the park.

We are one of the best travel agencies in Uganda, and we will organize a rewarding trip of a lifetime.

Chimpanzee trekking. Uganda is purely a primate country. There is no single national park travelers can visit and not spot any primate species, at least a Vervet monkey or an olive baboon. However, talking of big primates, Uganda is home to more than 1400 chimpanzees with about 1000 chimps dwelling in Kibale Forest National Park, making it a “primate capital of the world”.

Even though there are other places in Uganda to track chimps, such as the Kyambura gorge, Budongo forest, and Kalinzu forest, Kibale forest national park stands out for its incomparable number of chimps.

The highlights of our Uganda tours and travel packages are primates.

Following the chimps (man’s closest cousins in the forest) and watching them go about their daily lives is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Experience the legendary Source of River Nile in Jinja. River Nile is one of those unique Uganda travel destinations. River Nile is Africa’s longest river flowing to over four countries of Egypt, Ethiopia, South Sudan, and Uganda where it originates.

Thousands of tourists hit the country just to visit the exact point where the Nile river starts from, that real point where the Nile waters separate from Lake Victoria. Standing at the source of the Nile point makes travelers follow the footsteps of the famous explorer John Speke who first discovered it. The source of the Nile is Jinja town, East Africa’s adventure capital, just two hours away from Uganda’s capital Kampala. Ensure to request this in your Uganda holiday tour packages.

Sipi falls adventure. These magical falls are located in northeastern Uganda in Kapchorwa district. They consist of three beautiful cascading waterfalls, one main waterfall and two minor waterfalls.

The waterfalls are located on the outskirts of Mount Elgon, just a few kilometers from the Kenyan border.

Hiking around the falls provides breathtaking views of the Karamoja plains, the Pian-Upe reserve, the slopes of Mount Elgon, and Lake Kyoga.

Admire the wilderness of Kidepo Valley National Park. This is more remote than any of Uganda’s popular national parks, but simply worth the effort to explore the magnificent landscape of expansive golden grasslands, dotted with several animal species and domed mountains in the background. Kidepo Valley National Park is the only true African wilderness and was ranked among the most beautiful places by CNN. A safari holiday to Kidepo exposes travelers to countless wildlife species like lions, cheetahs, buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, hyenas, waterbucks, and many others.

The Uganda Equator. The equator is a line that divides the earth into two hemispheres, the northern and southern poles.

And if you’ve ever wanted to be in the middle of the world, at zero latitudes, neither north or south, Uganda is the place to go.

Even though Uganda has three equator monuments, the most popular is located along the Kampala-Masaka Highway at Kayabwe Trading Center.

Visiting the Uganda equator is exciting to both the young and elderly. Experience the water experiment that shows how water swirls in different directions in the opposite hemispheres of the earth. If there is any point to take a perfect picture in the pearl or buy an authentic African souvenir, then it’s the Uganda Equator.
