Day 4: Gorilla Tracking Extravaganza!!!

Today, eat an early breakfast as you plan to drive to the park for a briefing by your ranger guide. From here, you’ll begin your trek through the ancient Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in search of mountain gorillas. Depending on where the apes are, this could take a few hours or all day. Keep an eye out for forest animals including buffaloes, elephants, black-faced duikers, and bushbucks. Don’t forget to bring your packed lunches. It’s humbling to be only meters away from man’s distant cousins as they feed, rest, play, and bond with their young.

Follow the mountain gorillas as they roam freely through the dense forest, learning about their beautiful natural environment and the many animals that share it. The gorilla group you’ll be tracking is part of a habituated family group that can withstand human interaction for a short period of time every day. After a well-deserved visit to the gorillas, you will return to your hotel for the night. You can relax your tired legs with a restorative massage given by the gorilla experience!
